Banglar Bijoy Bohor

Banglar Bijoy Bohor

Banglar Bijoy Bohor is a nonprofit Bangladeshi Organization in Los Angeles, California. They have been in operation for 20 years in Los Angeles. This organization is highly recognized to celebrate the independence day of Bangladesh on December 16 every year. Few highly reputable leaders created these organizations 20 years ago, having the vision to help local Bangladeshis in their crisis. The members have been assisting local Bangladeshis in various ways.

They have a unique way to celebrate independence day. The members are very enthusiastic to celebrate independence day by introducing the motorcade on in-between 4th & 6th street. The city of Los Angeles every year approved this motorcade by closing the road for one hour for public transportation on December 16 to honor the festivity arranged and organized by Bangar Bijoy Bohor.

On the morning of December 16, Bijoy Bohor started the morning with a national anthem of Bangladesh and the USA, welcoming the dignitaries in Los Angeles City.

One of my very close friends, Salma Parveen, invited me to join Bijoy Bohor, seeing my creative ideas. It was always in my mind to serve my organization with my professional background. I was delighted with this offer and joined BBB as a vice president. Everyone was so welcoming and happy to get me in the organization. Salma Parvin and I divided to create a very productive and dynamic women's leadership inside the organization. We invited more enthusiastic and talented women who are very successful in American business. We created a women advisory group and helped the organization with goals to provide cultural programs, a traditional food fair celebrating the different cultural events on December 16.

I had been in this position since 2018, helping the organization with creative ideas and stage decoration, printing & design. I also donated to buy decoration materials for the stage and to print banners.

In this picture, on the back wall of the stage of the Shatto Center in Los Angeles, the banner is 20ftx12ft, designed and printed by me. I donated this banner to the organization to decorate the stage to celebrate Independence day

In the evening, there was a cultural show, fun & delicious food. The local Bengali caterers and homemakers took part in food preparation and entertained the visitors and audiences in the evening.

Banglar Bojoy Bohor also invited and honored the freedom fighters who fought to independent the motherboard. They kept twelve freedom fighters. It was a very emotional moment. The freedom fighters are sharing their experience walking through the memories and telling the stories. It was a great honor to be there to be part of this moment.

I also arranged and organized the event of the annual dinner of Banglar Bijoy Bohor in April 2019. I volunteered to decorate the stage and table for the game dinner. That day all the members of the management took part in the oath ceremony to serve the organization for the year of 2019 & 2020.
